General information
Nanotechnology refers to the manipulation of materials that are smaller than 100 nm (10-9 m) and that is applied in the technological as well as the electronic areas, light sources, solar cells, diagnosis and treatment of deceases, dosage devices, among others. Nanotechnology and Nanoscience are relatively new investigation areas and have had generated a huge interest around the world. Researchers in Nanotechnology had reported new tools and new discoveries in areas that represent a challenge as are the themes of generating a more efficient energy and the implementation of new materials in the medicine area. As a consequence, the governments of several countries are taking into account these developments in nanotechnology, as well as the meetings that enclose matters alike and promote the sharing of information about the present and future of nanotechnology. This has been the way to develop initiatives, programs and plans to invest in nanotechnology.
El Centro Universitario de los Lagos (CULAGOS) of Universidad de Guadalajara through The International Summer University (UIV) is a pioneer in the state of Jalisco and in the University web in the organization of events that promote the consolidation of research paths in these emerging areas of worldwide interest.
In this way, CULAGOS is having its VII International Nanotechnology Encounter with the purpose of supporting the efforts and initiatives that promote the broadcasting and cooperation of several researching teams in México and the world in the matter of nanomaterials.
